Responsibilities
Develop, and maintain flight dynamics and flight mechanics models, assumptions, and analysis tools to support aircraft design and development.
Perform nonlinear 6-degree-of-freedom simulations to evaluate stability, control, handling qualities, and performance for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and eVTOL platforms.
Support handling qualities and flight characteristics assessments in accordance with applicable standards and internal guidelines.
Design, develop, and tune flight control laws and guidance algorithms
Support definition and validation of control-law requirements, architectures, and tuning strategies throughout the development lifecycle.
Implement and verify control laws using model-based design, contributing to simulation, piloted simulation, HIL, and flight test activities.
Support verification and validation activities for flight dynamics and flight control law, including analysis, simulation, HIL, and flight test.
Desirable
Experience with UAV and/or manned aircraft platforms (fixed-wing, rotary-wing, or eVTOL) and modern flight control system architectures.
Familiarity with handling qualities standards (ADS-33E-PRF, MIL-STD-1797, MIL-F-8785).
Experience supporting flight test activities and correlating simulation models with flight data.
Experience working within ARP 4754B-based development processes.
Knowledge of V&V methodologies and certification evidence generation.
Hands-on experience in flight control law development, tuning, and verification for flight control systems.
Experience with piloted simulation, HIL, or flight test campaigns.
Proactive mindset and strong interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams, suppliers and partners.
Location
Primarily onsite, with flexibility to travel to international locations as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in flight mechanics, flight dynamics, stability and control for air vehicles.
Fundamental understanding of aerodynamics and its impact on flight dynamics for both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft.
Experience performing 6-DOF flight dynamics analysis and handling qualities evaluation.
Fundamental understanding of flight control law design and development fundamentals, including linear and nonlinear control concepts, control architecture definition, stability and robustness considerations, and controller tuning principles.
Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink; familiarity with Python or C/C++ is preferred.
Fluent English (written and spoken), with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in a lean organization.

This role spans flight mechanics, flight dynamics, and flight control law design & development, requiring close collaboration with aerodynamics, simulation, systems engineering, safety, and flight test teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering flight control design and flight dynamics solutions tailored to program and customer requirements.
